Pirate Edward Low Shoots a Man, 1725

Pirate history covers many in-depth subject relating to the notorious historical figures.  Pirates on “Colonies, Ships, and Pirates” will cover not just the direct history of the period, but also discuss the historiography and public memory of historical piracy.  Most of the coverage of pirates will come from those who operated in the Caribbean, West Coast of Africa, Madagascar, and Indian Ocean from 1690 to 1726, though some cases that fall outside that period or regions might be covered as well.  Below is a list of posts from this blog that fit into the pirate history category:
